Hi! My name is Kim Moore and I’m a lifelong resident of Barren County! I did not have a lot of experience with painting until I retired at a very “young age” of 50! While attending the University of Kentucky,I took a required elementary art class with Bernard Young ( An interesting fact... he was married to Debbie Sledge, Sister Sledge ,”We are Family!”). We did several art projects throughout the semester and most of my projects were not considered “art worthy!” At the end of the of the semester, we were given the final project... a flip book assignment. Mine was an illustration about Donald Duck going fishing and after several failed attempts, he ended up at Long John Silvers! Mr. Young gave me my first artistic encouragement! He selected my project and made a film clip and shared with the class! Ironically, 39 years later after I retired from teaching school at Red Cross Elementary... I picked up an paintbrush!
I paint with acrylics, creating Market Art! I first started showing my artwork at the Bounty of the Barrens each Saturday at my family business booth, Moore’s Family Farms! My inspirations are usually landscapes or photos that portray a fresh air, feel good, colorful, whimsical kind of art! CARDS BY KIMBERLEE are created from the canvas of my original paintings! Cards are $3.00 each... great for sending someone a personal handwritten note and as a Bonus.... they receive a special keepsake from an original piece of art!
